The reality was, no one was hiring anyone without experience and once they did hire, it was up to me to build up my client list and ensure I kept it. All of this while continuing my professional development and navigating a brand new sector where I was part doctor – part business woman.

The reality was also that Aesthetics is a highly competitive field. Finding a good mentor was hard. Throw understanding skin of colour into the mix and I quickly realised that there weren’t many experts in the industry; there were also limited resources available to help me. Studying and doing my own research kept me going once I’d jumped in the deep end, I didn’t want to go back to my old job, so swimming was the only option and here I am today!
